Reliable and current information about the changing patterns of tobacco use in Alberta is needed to help governments and health professionals develop policy and make decisions relating to tobacco reduction. Evaluation of tobacco reduction programs and information campaigns is also necessary to make sure that they achieve the goal of reducing tobacco use in Alberta.
