Clientele Served
Adults with a history of opioid dependence (e.g., heroin, morphine, codeine, Percodan®, Percocet®, Dilaudid®, Demerol®, OxyContin®).
Program/Service Description
- provides personalized medical and substance use assessments for clients dependent on opioids
- provides methadone maintenance treatment, including stabilization and long-term support for clients on methadone (clients are responsible for the cost of their medication)
- provides counselling services for clients on methadone
- provides referral to other addictions treatment services, including intensive treatment and self-help programs
- co-ordinates access to methadone for clients through community pharmacies
- provides consultations to pharmacists, family physicians, other professionals, and the public
