Clientele Served

  • children and adolescents (aged 12 to 17) who are experiencing problems associated with alcohol, other drugs or gambling
  • families affected by youth substance abuse problems 
  • schools, community groups, health professionals and the general public

Program/Service Description

  • provides personalized assessment, treatment and referral services for youth and their families
  • offers a 7 – 10 day residential youth detox program as a "treatment engagement & readiness" program
  • provides residential treatment for youth through a 3 month intensive adventure based wilderness program
  • offers a three-month intensive day treatment program
  • all residential and Intensive treatment programs incorporate comprehensive counselling, support and educational resources for youth 
  • provides residential support homes as needed for youth attending the intensive treatment program
  • offers leisure-based aftercare and peer support groups for youth who have completed day treatment 
  • provides family programs, support groups and information series for parents or guardians of youth involved in or recovering from substance abuse or problem gambling
  • offers a four-week Adolescent Information Series that uses videos, print resources and group discussions to teach youth about the effects and consequences of alcohol, other drugs and gambling on life areas
  • provides Mobile Team services to youth, families and others within their own communities (e.g., schools, justice sites, children's services agencies)
  • designs workshops and in-services tailored to the needs of cultural groups or community organizations
  • consults and collaborates with other youth agencies and groups to develop prevention and early intervention initiatives
  • distributes curriculum-based resources and current print materials to schools and community agencies
  • answers general inquiries about alcohol, other drugs, gambling, and AADAC services

  • Walk-in counselling is available 8:30 am-10:00 am, Monday/Wednesday/Friday
