Department Description
- pursues research to inform evidence-based decision-making, effectiveness, and accountability of AADAC’s policies, programs, products, and services
- monitors substance use and gambling among Albertans through research such as The Alberta Youth Experience Survey (TAYES) and collaborates with national partners on research projects such as the Canadian Alcohol and Drug Use Monitoring Survey (CADUMS)
- measures, analyzes and reports on performance data to meet Alberta Government accountability requirements
- conducts ongoing research and evaluation related to AADAC programs and services
- shares research findings and implications with AADAC staff and the public to improve the understanding of addictions and addiction-related work across the province
- administers AADAC’s Third Party Research procedures, which apply to research that is not conducted under contract or under the direct supervision of AADAC staff
