The following exercise can assist in creating a more open and sharing climate within your group or team.
Have each person complete the handout privately. Tell them they only need to share what they're comfortable with sharing.
In pairs, in threes or in the large group have them share their responses (the ones they feel comfortable sharing).
Then process: (sample questions)
- How did they feel doing this exercise?
- What did they learn about themselves?
- Did they name a person more than once?
- Were some examples easier to share than others?
- What made some, if any, difficult?
- How did you decide you could trust the people you listed?
- What keeps you from trusting?
- What do we need to do in the group to trust each other?
